The Irish Payroll Association (IPASS) is Ireland 's premier accreditation provider of Payroll Training, PAYE Training, PRSI Training, VAT Training, qualifications and consultancy services and is the only representative body for payroll professionals in Ireland.

BMI Training is an approved trainer to offer IPASS Certified Payroll Technician (CPT) and Certified VAT Technician (CVT) courses.

Certified Payroll Technician (CPT)

The Certified Payroll Technician (CPT) qualification provides Payroll personnel with a nationally recognised qualification by which they can be evaluated. The syllabus for this IPASS qualification was prepared following consultation with Payroll professionals in industry, commerce and in the public sector and it reflects the diverse range of skills and knowledge which all payroll professionals require in order to function efficiently.

The course material includes numerous examples and self assessment questions which students can use to develop their knowledge while they study. The course is extremely practical and interesting and is designed to allow students to progress at a realistic pace. Whether you already work in payroll, or not, you will find this course interesting, practical and relevant to you.

Certified VAT Technician

The IPASS Certified VAT Technician (CVT) qualification is a superb qualification which is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the operation of the Irish VAT system. The course assumes no prior knowledge of VAT on the part of students and it introduces them in a logical and progressive manner to the VAT implications and treatment of a huge range of business transactions.

Starting with first principles, the course explains the basic principles of the Irish VAT system, for all kinds of businesses from sole traders to multinational organisations and includes State and semi State bodies and VAT exempt institutions. Students will receive a comprehensive course manual written in non technical language, which explains in detail, the workings of the Irish VAT system and which contains numerous practical examples and exercises.

The Certified VAT Technician (CVT) qualification will greatly enhance a student’s career prospects by providing certification of their expertise in a hugely important tax. Students will enhance their knowledge and their confidence with a valuable qualification in a subject which is of huge importance to employers. This course will  reduce the possibility of VAT errors and increase the possibility of identifying and dealing with VAT problems, thereby minimising the possibility of a costly outcome to a Revenue audit.

Accreditation

The Certified Payroll Technician (CPT) is accrediated by HETAC as a Certificate in Payroll Techniques, Level 6 Special Category Award. The Certified VAT Technician (CVT) is accrediated by HETAC as a Certificate in VAT Techniques, Level 6 Special Category Award. HETAC accreditation is awarded on completion of Stage One and Stage Two of each qualification.

Course Structure and Pricing

Course Structure
Stage One of the Certified Payroll Technician (CVT) and the Certified Payroll Technnician (CPT) will commence on the 5th of October, 2011. Classes will be held each week on Wednesday from 9.30am to 12 noon. Stage 2 will commence on the 15th of Febuary 2012. There are 25 contact hours per stage, 50 in total. Enrol online to reserve a course place. Course places are reserved only on the payment of tuition fees.

Course Pricing
Course fee is €1,140 per course which includes - Stage 1 €495, Stage 2 €495, HETAC Fee €50, Registration Fee €100, study manuals included.
