The Institute of Leadership and Management is Europe’s premier awarding body for leadership and management qualifications. It is also a membership organisation for managers and leaders who are keen to develop their talents.
Certificate in First Line Management
The Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management aims to give practising and potential Managers the foundation for their formal development. As part of this programme BMI provides the opportunity for participants to participate in a 10 week work placement programme by actively supporting candidates in securing work placement with prospective employers through the BMI work placement programme.
Content
First Semester: Tuesday 4th October - Wednesday 7th December 2011
1. Solving problems and making decisions
2. Understanding change in the workplace
3. Planning change in the workplace
4. Managing the employment relationship
5. Recruiting, selecting and inducting new staff in the workplace
6. Achieving objectives through time management
Second Semester: Tuesday 10th January - Wednesday 14th March, 2012
1. Introduction to leadership
2. Building the team
3. Motivating to perform in the workplace
4. Developing yourself and others
5. Managing conflict in the workplace
Progression

Course Structure and Pricing
• The above course is run part time one evening per week 6.30pm to 9.45pm.
• All modules are completed in the course. Assistance in securing a work placeent is available for those who wish to avail of the BMI Work Placement Programme.
• Registration fees are paid directly to ILM.
• Course materials are provided by BMI and are included in the tuition fee.
• The tuition fee is €1,800
• A work-based assignment, plus change management report must be completed during the course.
