ECDL

The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) is the world’s most successful IT skills certification programme. To date, nine million people have undertaken an ECDL programme in more than 60 countries worldwide. In Ireland, the ECDL is administered by ICS SKILLS. BMI has an excellent track history of exam success in the ECDL exams having tutored over 250 participants in the past academic year. Outside of Europe the programme is known as the International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL), attesting to its phenomenal world-wide recognition and growth.

The ECDL establishes a standard for everyone who uses a computer in either a professional or personal capacity. It is a certificate that verifies competence in computer use, making the holder readily mobile within Ireland and internationally. Employers and job seekers all agree on the importance of this standard definition of practical competence in Information Technology. The ECDL consists of 3 main components – a syllabus, a skills card and a question test base, all leading to the European Computer Driving Licence.

Course Structure

The ECDL is divided into seven modules, 6 practical and 1 theoretical. An online test in each module must be passed before the ECDL is awarded. When a candidate registers on an ECDL programme, a Skills Card is registered on which their progress through the seven tests is recorded. When all seven modules are completed, the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) is awarded. For a detailed syllabus click here.

Duration and Pricing

Courses are held on a rolling basis with the next commencing on the 10th of October 2011. Enrol online to reserve a course place. Course places are limited and are only reserved on full payment of tuition fees.

• The course is 7 weeks in duration
• Evening tuition is available Monday and Thursday evenings 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
• The cost for the course is €495
• ECDL Skills cards and exam fees are included in the tuition fee and all course materials.

Walk-In ECDL Exams :
