The Business Management Institute offers tuition in the Managerial Level of the CIMA qualification. Tuition commences in August 2007 for November 2007 exams.
The CIMA Professional
Qualification is a highly regarded and recognised business
qualification around the world. Participants
gain strategic management skills and the opportunity
to develop expertise in management accounting, business
management and financial management. CIMA is a practical
qualification allowing one to earn while learning and
providing the key skills required to fulfil senior position
skill requirements.
CIMA Course Content
Many students
will be exempt or partially exempt from the Certificate
in Business Accounting. The CIMA Professional Qualification is then
divided into two levels the Managerial and Strategic
Level. The Test of Professional Competence in Management
Accounting (TOPCIMA) is the final assessment.
The syllabus
for the Professional qualification comprises three learning
pillars:
(a) Business Management
(b) Management Accounting
(c) Financial Management

Managerial Level Course Content
The Managerial level is comprised of
six subjects. You can sit between one and six papers at the same time
or sit the papers in any combination. It is recommended that you sit between two and four papers per exam sitting.

CIMA Registration
You can register with CIMA online click here and you will be directed to the appropriate section of the CIMA website. Exam entry takes place online on the CIMA website from August to mid-September for November examinations and February to mid-March for May examinations. All of the exams are three hours long and have a pass mark of 50%. Please note it is the responsibility of the candidate to register with CIMA.
Exemptions
The following qualifications
give exemptions from the CIMA Certificate in Business
Accounting and allow direct entry to the CIMA Managerial Level:
A relevant degree that specialises
in accountancy or business
The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT)
Technical level
The Open University (OU) Certificate in Accountancy
Appropriate exemptions are awarded based on comprehensive information provided by the awarding institution to CIMA. Accreditation applications are only accepted from the awarding institution and not from individual students. To find out if you can claim exemptions
click here and you will be directed to the appropriate section of the CIMA website. It is strongly recommended that students apply for exemptions at the time of registering with CIMA. When enrolling at BMI we request that your exemptions be already determined.
Further Study
On successful completion of the Managerial Level the CIMA's
Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting is awarded.
The Managerial level must be completed successfully before taking
the strategic level papers. The Test of Professional Competence in Management
Accounting (TOPCIMA) is the final assessment.
Course Structure and Pricing
The next course will commence in August 2007. Enrol online to reserve a course place. Payment is due a month prior to commencment date. You will be notified at that time by email to submit payment.
Exams are held in November 2007.
Tuition commences at BMI in August 2007. Evening tuition is available.
