Certificate in Business Studies
Whatever career you aspire to a qualification in Business Studies is of immense value. If you become a surgeon, a teacher, or a pilot you will be required to manage resources and people. An entrepreneur will have to juggle all of these resources and maximise the return from each in order to survive and prosper. An understanding of finance will assist you in dealing competently with banks and accountants. A Certificate in Business Studies thus provides the successful participant with a sound basis on which to build a promising career.
Programme Objectives
The objective of this programme is to gain a solid understanding of the major tasks with which a career in business encounters on a day to day basis. The IT and accountancy modules assist in delivering the required level of competency to deal with every day tasks that arise in a business, in whatever sector.
Award
A FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Business Studies (BBSXX) is awarded to learners who successfully complete all modules. For further information on a FETAC award click here and you will be directed to the FETAC website.
Entry Requirements
- National Vocational Certificate Level 1, Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied or equivalent qualifications
- Curriculum Vitae or Interview
- Mature Applicants (23 Yrs) with relevant life and work experience
Syllabus
Assessment:
Continuous assessment applies all year round and roughly represents 60% of the final grade. Assignments are to be completed during the year. There is an end of year assesment that represents the remaining 40% of the final grade.
Career Opportunities:
The completion of this course provides an excellent opportunity for the successful participant to secure a recognised Irish qualification that can assist in a variety of roles in various sectors of employment. A qualification in Business Studies allows an individual access to a wide number of careers while allowing the possibility for further specialisation in the future.
Progression:
A FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Business Studies is awarded on successful completion of all subjects.
Protection for Learners:
Business Management Institute adheres to the Qualifications (Education & Training) Act of 1999 which addresses Protection for Learners. The Act seeks to ensure that learners have every opportunity to complete a programme leading to an award. To fulfil the requirements of this act Business Management Institute has in place a written agreement with two other providers who will allow Learners to transfer over their programmes should Business Management Institute cease to provide the programme in question. Full details of this arrangement is supplied on enrolment or on request.
Course Duration and
Pricing
The above course is run part time one evening per week 6.30pm to 9.45pm commencing on the 5th of October, 2011. Alternatively for students that need additional support BMI have a full time study option on a Monday and Tuesday.
Course fees include registration fees, exam fees and course material
The tuition fee is €1,800
A revision course & mock examination are included in the tuition fee
