Accounting Technicians Ireland

Accounting Technicians Ireland (formerly IATI) was established in 1983 and has become the leading accounting technician body in Ireland. They currently have over 5,800 students and 4,600 members. The IATI provides a recognised business qualification for ambitious people working or planning to work in middle management or in the accounting area.

The IATI qualification consists of two years. Successful candidates are qualified to work as accounting technicians within the accountancy profession or alternatively can pursue one of the main professional accountancy qualifications with generous exemptions. Candidates who complete the IATI course at BMI are assisted by BMI through our work placement programme in securing the relevant experience required to achieve the MIATI designation on completion of exams.

First Year

The course design has a practical focus with candidates gaining experience in accounting, taxation and law. The IATI qualification is suitable for a wide range of candidates from participants with little knowledge of accountancy to those already working in accountancy departments but seeking a formal qualification.
